On the 25th of June, Michael Jackson, yes that guy who does those awesome dance videos and stuff, died.

I thought it was a normal day, waking up, turning on the T.V., and there. The headline on Today stated: Michael Jackson Dead.

The first thing that sprung to mind was that it was just another rumour. ‘He probably just fainted or something.’ I thought.

No but it was true, in class, everyone was devasted about his death. It still hadn’t sinken in for me and I didn’t actually WANT to believe it was true. Apparently Michael had a Cardiac Arrest (Sort of like a heart attack), and had passed away. :(

I liked his music even though I didn’t get any of his albums. Now on T.V., they have been having 1-2 hour tributes to him, showing all his music videos and stuff. What I don’t understand is that, why are they showing the videos now that he’s gone? Why didn’t they show them and celebrate him while he was alive? :o Thats confusing.

Also another thing, I never knew his birthday was so CLOSE to mine! Or else I would’ve said Happy Birthday… somehow. Hahah!

R.I.P. THE KING OF POP.

Bye!

In class we are preparing our 3 way interviews. Last Friday we got our Semester 1 reports and now this week everyone and their parents/caregivers are coming to discuss what we got and ask any questions. This interview is going to be different because us, the students, are going to run the whole thing. We have to prepare a presentation running in the background and present our work to our parents. I am nearly finished but I couldn’t work on it today because I forgot my USB at home. :(

Some of the things we have to discuss are:

-Literacy

-Numeracy

-Inquiry

-Future Improvments

-Highlights (If you want)

and more things.

My interview is on Wednesday, and hopefully I haven’t fallen behind because of the USB forgotten incident, haha.

Bye.

Hey all, I found this game called ‘Up Beat’ that I haven’t played in a LONG time and I really like it!

It was originally on miniclip.com but then they took it off, I’m not sure why. I was so happy when I found it again!

Heres the link:

This Term our inquiry is ‘Why Is This Happening’ and we are talking about The Murray River and the Lower Lakes. Other people have advantages with this unit because they went on camp and got to see what is happening to the river in front of their eyes. Iv’e learnt that the Murray is an ancient river and it is running out of water due to people wasting it and not enough rain. After we finish all our research we have to get a mind map sort if thing from inspiration and record all the information we have collected. Thats the stage I am up to right now.

Bye!

Hey everyone, its Term 2 and the holidays have just finished. I went to the movies 3 times, and got together with friends 2 times. The first movie I saw was on Tuesday (week 1)and me and Tegie saw Paul Blart-Mall Cop because she came over. On Monday (the second week) I saw 17 Again which was a REALLY GOOD MOVIE and I saw it with Danni and Tegie. On Wednesday I went and saw The Knowing with my mum and brother. It was a horror/adventure film and I thought it was pretty scary and LOUD in the cinemas!

Also in the holidays it was Greek Easter! I didn’t get much chocolate because I’m getting older now and I dont really care anymore. All my family and I cracked our eggs and my Grandpa had the strongest egg. I took heaps of pictures and it was a great day!

I didnt really do much on my holidays but I always like getting together with friends!

My quote:

Leadership cannot really be taught. It can only be learned. –Harold Geneen

I chose this picture because when you think of being taught, you think of a classroom. I really liked the whole olden day look so I mixed the writing in so it would match.

My understanding of my quote: I think this quote means that leaders learn to be a good leader. It takes time to become a leader that people want to look up to and leadership cannot be taught by a teacher etc. If you have the right habits of mind and personality, people will look up to you and appreciate what you do.

Example:   Two girls are fighting over who is going to use the active whiteboard next. One of the girls tries to compromise with the other girl so they stop fighting. The other girl realised that that was a good idea and that she should’ve been a leader from the start. She learnt how you can be a leader without being taught, just by observing how the other girl thought how they could work it out.

I liked choosing my quote, working on photoshop, and finding a picture. It was different to things I usually do on photoshop at home.

There’s a chance Moreton Island’s world famous beaches could re-open in time for Easter .

The clean-up operation because of the oil spill which polluted the once clean shore, will be boosted on Friday - with more cleaning and more sand sieving machines being deployed on the island.

All machines will be backed up with around 250 people to get the island cleaned up and safe.

The beaches are being tested to see if they can be opened for Easter but Maritime Safety Queensland says that right now, Moreton and parts of Bribie Island are still out of bounds for campers etc.

A Greens party candidate in last weekend’s Queensland election has accused oil-spill cleanup workers of dumping toxic waste on his vacant property while tiding up the island.

Andrew Jeremijenko has accused cleaners of dumping four bins of dirty sand from nearby Currimundi Beach on his and a neighbour’s spare land.

However, a Maritime Safety Queensland spokesman said every effort was made to identify the owner of the site and the area would be fully ready and clean by Easter.

Three people were arrested at what local radio described as a ’stampede’ as thousands waited in New York to audition for the reality show America’s Next Top Model. A New York Police Department official said two women and a man were arrested on charges of inciting to riot and bad conduct. WINS radio reported that chaos erupted outside a midtown Manhattan hotel after a car belching smoke pulled up near the line of women late in the afternoon, leading to a cry of “fire” that sparked panic. Witnesses told the station the situation got worse when a man leapt from a car and began grabbing women’s purses.

Police said six women in the crowd were treated after ‘feeling faint’.

Some of the women had stayed lined up all night, so they would be able to audition for the show.
