In the holidays I went on ebay (yes ebay) and was looking for albums and other things that America has but Australia doesn’t. I was looking for DVD’s, signed posters, and more things. But then I remembered one of my fave. celebrities had an album coming out in two days (from the time I bought it). Selena Gomez – Wizards of Waverly Place- had an album called Kiss & Tell that someone had preordered and was selling them to people from accross the world online. It was extrememely cheap compared to what you have would’ve payed in Australia. All together (P&H- Postage and Handling) it was about $16 AU and about $12 US – otherwise here you would pay $25-30 AU from Sanity or someplace else. Selena and her band The Scene, had been advertising this album for months! It has been advertised on every website that advertises haha! So I was allowed to buy it and it arrived in about.. 1 week and 3 days later. I was impressed because you’d think it would take 2 weeks to come! The album is FANTASTIC and I recommend it to anyone who loves pop music (and Selena Gomez haha). But if I have got you excited, you must remember I got it ONLINE so you will probably have to wait 6 months till it comes out here.
The tracks are:
1. Kiss & Tell
2. I won’t Apologise
3. Falling Down
4. I Promise You
5. Crush
6. Naturally
7. The Way I Loved You
8. More
9. As A Blonde
10. I Don’t Miss You At All
11. Stop & Erase
12. I Got U
13. Tell Me Something I Don’t Know

Recently I have read a book called ‘Jinx’ by Meg Cabot. I don’t read many books by this author so this was very different.
The book starts with a girl called Jane. They call her Jinx because she is very unlucky and bad things happen to her all the time. The book starts off with Jinx moving from somewhere in America to New York. She doesnt know anyone except her Cousin, her aunty and her uncle. When she arrived, her cousin Tory, was not what she expected. She had dyed her hair black and beleived she was a witch.
Jinx meets Tory’s friends and becomes close with one of them. The friend that Jinx makes friends with was under a spell by Tory to make him only like her. After Jinx finds out that Tory has a voodoo doll of her new friend, she tries to get rid of it and Tory gets mad. She then puts a spell on Jinx to make her even more unlucky.
Near the end of the book, the school dance is on. Tory starts playing ‘nice’ with Jinx and says she regrets everything she has done bad in the past. Jinx beleived her and couldn’t wait till the dance. At the dance, Tory reveals that she was there with Jinx’s old boyfriend that Jinx had put a spell on also. It ends up that Jinx had been a witch also, but not on purpose, only because witches had been in her family for generations.
This book is full of drama with magic and heaps of fights.
I only recommend it for those who like Harry Potter or things like that, but out of 5, I only rate it 2 and a half.

Hey I will be reviewing my favourite book of all time- New Moon. It is a book from the Twilight series written by Stephenie Meyer.
Please DO NOT READ if you want to read it yourself and find out what happens.
The book starts of with Bella’s birthday. The Cullens hold her a birthday party at their house with a big cake and heaps of presents. While Bella is opening one of the gifts, the corner of it cuts her finger. Blood drips out and guess what- she’s in a room of hungry vampires. Edward leaves (Yes I bet your like, ’Oh NO!’) and Bella goes into depression. Everything that involved Edward was finished and had dissapeared. Even some pictures she had taken with him, he had gone. Later on, she remembers a friend she had made over the past few months- Jacob Black. After she had gone to say hello, her and Jacob became very close, fixing motorbikes and talking about their past. Bella told Jacob about how Edward had hurt her and Jacob promised never to do anything like that to her.
Once Bella and Jacob had become very close, like any teenagers, they went to the movies. A flu was going around at the moment and Jacob had become very sick. At first Bella thought it was just a cold and that he would get better.
After Bella tried many many times to see Jacob, Billy (Jacob’s dad) kept on making excuses that he WAS getting better but Bella was not allowed to see him. It was weeks, months, and Bella still hadn’t seen Jacob since the day when they saw the movie.
Bella was about to give up trying to get past Billy when she saw Jacob. He used to have long hair but now it was short. He used to not have muscles but now he was huge! Jacob wasnt as friendly as before and he treated Bella horribly.
Jacob had a secret that Bella had to find out. He told her to remember back to the past when he had told her about some myths about his family. Bella remembered his story and figured out what was going on.
Later in the story Bella tries to go cliff jumping since Jacob had told her it was fun. When Alice Cullen (Edward’s sister) was in the city to do things, saw Bella jumping and thought she wanted to die. Alice told Edward what she had seen and Edward goes to kill himself too since he didn’t want to live without Bella alive. Just about when he is going to die, Bella and Alice flew to Italy, the place where Edward was going to die.
I’ll leave it there, to let your mind wonder. What is Jacob’s secret? Does Edward survive? Will Bella and Alice be too late?
This book was fantastic, I hope I have got you interested to read it. The movie comes out November 20th, just in case you don’t like reading.

This is Bella and Jacob.

Task: Research a famous person from Adelaide and write a post of over 200 words on your blog.
I have chosen to write about Australian Idol winner, Guy Sebastian.
Guy’s full name is Guy Theodore Sebastian. He was born in Malaysia on the 26th of October 1981 which now makes him 27 years old. Guy, his mother Nellie and his father Ivan moved to Melbourne in 1988 when Guy was only 7 years old. They eventually took up residence in Adelaide due to Guy’s father Ivan’s work as a geologist. Guy had taken violin lessons as a child but had no other formal lessons for instruments he plays such as guitar, drums and piano. He always attended Paradise Community Church where he sang in front of the crowd. Since that church is one of the biggest in Australia, Guy was performing in front of up to 15,000 people! What started his career was winning Australian Idol back in the first series in 2003. I remember watching his audition and thinking he was great. After winning he juggled two jobs, teaching vocals at high schools and working as a recording engineer while studying Music Technology at the Elder School Of Music. Guy has released four albums, Just As I Am (2003), Beautiful Life (2004), Closer to the Sun (2006) and the Memphis Album (2007). His fifth album is due to be released on October 9th this year. He has released his new single on the 7th of August called Like It Like That. His album is called that as well, so it will be easy to spot. Some other projects that Guy has been involved in is World Vision. He was appointed ambassador in 2005 and is involved in the 40 Hour Famine, donating money to those who have Aids or other diseases.

This term we had an inquiry unit called ‘Why Is The World Coming to Adelaide’, where we had to make up a migrant who has migrated here to South Australia and make up a whole story about how they came. Also we had to design a box or a bag to show what this person had taken with them when they migrated. The main thing we had to do was to write a rap including everything about this person, their family, where they are from, and many more things.
Before all these things had happened, all of the class got placed into groups of three, and on that day I was actually absent. The next day I came and found out that I was in the same group as ministam and danni08. I was very happy to be in a group of all girls! Our migrant was named Helen Davis. She was from England and was married to a man called Harry. She left England in 1950 because of the post war and had come to Australia by ship. In our bag we included Helen’s birth certificate, a passport, some pictures, a medical degree (she was a doctor) and a little English soldier doll.
On the day my group performed, I was sick! I was devastated because I was so excited to perform it but my group did an excellent job anyway. Here is the chorus of our song:
Go Helen, Go Helen, It was your birthday in 1936!
We changed the line at the end to suit the part of the story we were up to.
Thanks for reading and go check out danni08 and ministam’s blog, they are cool!
Bye.

Firstly, theres proof in schools because now mostly every school has at least one language that the students can learn and in some schools, teachers teach about how others spend their Christmas’, Easter, etc.
Secondly, Adelaide is getting into doing things like the 40 hour famine. Teaching everyone how they might’ve lived before they immigrated here to Adelaide.
Thirdly is the way people dress. They might dress more natively from where they are from and not dress as casually as us Australians do.
The way people speak, for example they might have an accent and be hard to understand, or just have a different way of saying words, like slang.
Religions have a big part of cultures and people believe in different things. You see so many churches and so many ways people celebrate things.
If you go to the city there’s one big example of how the Chinese have immigrated, China Town. Everything in there is things you would see in a Chinese Market. In Rundle Mall, you might see people dancing indifferent ways. Like an African tribal dance or a Chinese dragon dance. Or you just might see an American doing rap.
Finally, countries from around the world have different food, and you see those types of restaurants in malls with lots of different varieties. If you have moved to Adelaide, you would be likely to find at least one restaurant from your home country.

Schools back. Like any person I still wish it was holidays.
I have joined miniclip, which is a game website with lots of games. The reason I’m writing about this is to kind of ‘promote’ it. The site has a place where you can join and create your YoMe, like a little person that represents you. Then you play games with the red writing down the bottom and they are called Challenge Games. When you finish, your score will be added to your page and other people can challenge you to see if they are better than you at that game.
I know only a few people like tegie8, and pavlo that have an account. I would like to add more of you guys so leave me a comment if you have an account or if you made one.
Here’s my YoMe.

Hope you get some inspiration or something haha.

Hey ALL!
It’s me, yes, me.
I’m here to report on my holidays so far! So in the first week I mostly went to the movies. But on the first weekend I went to my cousins cousins house to celebrate my littlest cousins birthday. (Do you get it?) It was a good party but I had no one to talk to because all the kids there were either too little, or boys. Haha.
Some of the movies I saw in the first week were Transformers (the second one), which was not the best movie, and the Hannah Montana movie. I enjoyed the Hannah Montana movie more because I love the show and it was pretty cool seeing a 1 hour and a half movie of it in the cinemas. I’m not obsessed with Hannah Montana/Miley Cyrus but I don’t hate her like some people do.
I’m going to the cinemas this Thursday with my brother, danni08 and her brother. We are seeing the 6th Harry Potter movie called ‘The Half Blood Prince’ and I am SO excited! I heard that the movie goes for 163 minutes ( 2 hours and a half-ish), so we are going to be in the cinema for a long time! My favourite Harry Potter movie is the first one because they were all little and cute, haha. I don’t like the fourth one though, (The Goblet of Fire), that the scariest in my opinion.
Give me some comments about how your holidays are going or have gone.
Below are pictures from the Hannah Montana movie.
Bye!

On the 25th of June, Michael Jackson, yes that guy who does those awesome dance videos and stuff, died.
I thought it was a normal day, waking up, turning on the T.V., and there. The headline on Today stated: Michael Jackson Dead.
The first thing that sprung to mind was that it was just another rumour. ‘He probably just fainted or something.’ I thought.
No but it was true, in class, everyone was devasted about his death. It still hadn’t sinken in for me and I didn’t actually WANT to believe it was true. Apparently Michael had a Cardiac Arrest (Sort of like a heart attack), and had passed away.
I liked his music even though I didn’t get any of his albums. Now on T.V., they have been having 1-2 hour tributes to him, showing all his music videos and stuff. What I don’t understand is that, why are they showing the videos now that he’s gone? Why didn’t they show them and celebrate him while he was alive? Thats confusing.
Also another thing, I never knew his birthday was so CLOSE to mine! Or else I would’ve said Happy Birthday… somehow. Hahah!
R.I.P. THE KING OF POP.

Bye!
